2006 World Series of Poker MAIN EVENT Final Table Highlights - Jamie Gold is the Chip Leader!

The Final Table of the 2006 WSOP Main Event is set! It will begin on Thursday, August 10th at 2:00 PM. After 7 long days of play the elite nine players are about to unfold history. The $10,000 World Series of Poker World Championship began 12 days ago on Friday, July 28th with an astounding 8,773 players. The prize pool totaled over $82 million. The top 873 players finished in the money and the top 63 earned at least six figures with the top 12 players becoming instant millionaires. First place is estimated to be worth a whopping $12 million.

With almost 500 players still remaining on day 4, Jamie Gold took the chip lead and started his dominance at the tables. Jamie Gold is a Bodog.com WSOP qualifier. Poker Pro Allen Cunningham will start the final table second in chips with $17,770,000. He has played like true champion. He began day 7 thirteenth in chips with $2,650,000 and simply dominated all his opponents. Paul Wasicka is another player who rose to the occasion. He started day 7 in 24th position (out of 27 players) with $700,000 and finished fifth with $7,970,000.
