Amir Vahedi

Known as one of the most respected players in the world of poker, Amir Vahedi is a professional poker player. Vahedi is originally from Iran, but currently living in Sherman Oaks, California. Amir Vahedi has been on the radar of most professional players since 2001, when he was named Texas holdem player of the year. He was noticed again in 2003 when he was listed in Card Players 2003 player of the year list as second only to Men Nguyen.

It was no surprise to those that knew him when Amir Vahedi made it to the final table of the main event of the 2003 World Series of Poker. Vahedi finished in 6th place and took home a net profit of $250,000! This was the same year that Amir Vahedi took home his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet in the Texas hold'em event. Winning the Texas Hold'em event allowed for Amir to bring home an addition $270,000! Not bad for just one year!

Amir Vahedi is very well respected, and because of this he is sought by many as a poker tutor. Vahedi was the first poker tutor of Ben Afflack, who is known to have a love for the game of poker. Many enjoyed watching as Vahedi became the champion of the third season of Ultimate Poker Challenge. Though he has experienced much success through the game of poker, Vahedi hasn't slowed down. It's thought that to date he has won more than $2.7 million in live tournaments.
