Freddy Deeb - One of Pokers Friendliest Players

Kassem Deeb, also known as Freddy Deeb, has one of the most unique poker success stories. Given the nickname "Freddy" by his poker colleagues, Kassem Deeb hails from Beirut, Lebanon where he spent the first 19 years of his life. Under some challenging circumstances, Freddy Deeb came to the United States in order to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. After losing contact with his parents who were funding his education, Freddy Deeb eventually had to discontinue his degree as a result of financial difficulties. As a way to support himself as a student, Freddy Deeb decided to start gambling with the little money he had. He eventually made it to the World Series of Poker for the first time, where he won the $5,000 Deuce to Seven Draw event. For his efforts in this event, Freddy Deeb received well over $100,000. It is also worth mentioning that on his way to victory, he bested an impressive field of some of the most prolific and successful poker players. Some of these players were household names like Doyle Brunson and Mickey Appleman.
