Poker Hand OddsPoker hand odds are the chances of making a particular hand in a poker game. The odds are based on the cards in your hand, the cards in the hands of the other players, the cards left in the deck and the cards on the table, if any. For example, if you had two spades in your hand and there are two spades on the table, as the "flop", then your odds of completing a flush are 2 to 1, adjusted for the cards that your opponents are holding. Without taking into account the cards your opponent's hold, every 3 times you play this hand scenario, you have a chance of getting a flush. In order to calculate your hand odds, you will need to know how many outs your hand has. Outs are the cards in the deck that will help you make your hand. If you hold a 6 and a 7 of spades and there are two spades on the flop. That leaves 9 spades left in the deck since there are 13 cards in each suit. So you now have 9 outs to make the flush. Do you want instant cash bonuses; sign-up and reload bonuses? If you know that someone has a spade, then you will certainly include this in your odds, but in most cases you have no idea what your opponents are holding and you cannot calculate your odds based on what you might think they hold. You can only do calculations based upon the knowledge available to you. So, basically, you are doing calculations as though you are the only person on the table. It is important not to over count your odds when calculating outs. A flush draw in addition to an open straight draw is a good example of this. For example, if you hold a Jack of Diamonds and a 10 of Diamonds and the flops shows an 8 of Diamonds, a Queen of Diamonds and a King of Spades. A Nine or an Ace gives you a straight, which is 8 outs, while a Diamond gives you a flush, with 9 outs. There is an Ace of Diamonds and a Nine of Diamonds, so these do not count twice toward your straight draw and your flush draw. The real number of outs is 15; 8 outs plus 9 outs, minus the 2 outs that are doubled, instead of the 17 outs it appears to be. The ability to calculate your hand odds is a fundamental point in becoming a good poker player who can consistently produce positive results. At first glance, the calculations seem rather confusing, but with a bit of practice they will become second nature.
