On Monday, July 17, 2006 WSOP event #23 and #24 were completed. Ian Johns from Seattle, Washington won event #23. It was $3000 buy-in Limit Texas Holdem tournament which attracted 341 players. The prize pool reached $941,160 and payouts went to the top 37 players. Ian Johns won his first WSOP Gold Bracelet and $291,755. Poker greats Barry Greenstein and Carlos Mortensen finished in the top 21.

Scott Clements from Mt. Vernon, Washington ultimately won the Gold Bracelet and $301,175. Poker Pro's Phil Hellmuth finished in 6th place and Allen Cunningham came in 18th.
