2006 WSOP Event #1 Results/Highlights

The first event of the 2006 WSOP began on Monday, June 26, 2006. It was a 2-day tournament only open to casino employees. It was structured as a No-limit Texas Holdem tournament with a $500 buy-in. 1,232 people entered the tournament and the top 101 entrants got a piece of the $554,400 prize pool. Chris Gros won the Gold Bracelet and $127,496.
