Event #41 of the 2006 WSOP was a No-limit Texas Holdem tournament. 1,007 players signed up for the 2-day $1500 buy-in event. The top 102 players made it to the money round and received a piece of the $1,374,555 prize pool. Paul Kobel from Oakland, California won his first WSOP Gold Bracelet, the title and $316,144. Last year's Main Event runner-up Steve Dannenmann came in 26th place and poker great Mel Judah placed 19th.
