Cecilia Reyes MortensenCecilia "Goldilocks" Reyes Mortensen is one of the top ranked female poker players in the world today. Mortensen was born in Ecuador, and at age 18 moved to Spain to study Dramatic Arts while working numerous jobs in order to pay for her education. Just before completing her degree, she was introduced to poker by Carlos Mortensen. Always a quick and passionate learner, she watched many hours of poker as played by some of the best players in the world. In 1998, having married Carlos, they moved to the United States in order to pursue his poker career. At the time, Mortensen was playing poker only part time. In 2005, Cecilia won a Limit Texas Hold'em event at the World Poker Open in Mississippi, netting her largest prize yet, $58,036.00. Since then, she has placed fourth at the 2005 World Series of Poker Ladies event, and 374th (of 8,773) at the 2006 World Series of Poker Main event. Now, after 5 years of serious poker playing, 34 year old Mortensen's live tournament winnings amount to over $230,000.
