Erik Friberg - 23 Year Old Professional Poker Player

Erik Friberg finished eighth place at the 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event. He earned a prize worth $1,979,189. This was Erik's first time playing at the World Series of Poker. He won his seat to the Main Event by qualifying online at PokerStars.com in a $160 Double Shootout tournament. Friberg showed a lot of pride by holding the Swedish flag during his press conference. He represents a growing legion of Scandinavian poker superstars who have won prize money at the WSOP. He is the third Swede to make it to the final table in three years. He joins Mattias Andersson who made it in 2004 and Daniel Bergsdorf who made it in 2005. Sweden now ranks as the most successful country in terms of number of players compared to in-the-money finishers.
