He won the World Poker Open Championship in 2001 then in 2002 he was the tournament Champion of the Year. In this year (2002) he won his first World Series of Poker bracelet and the winnings have continued up to the present day. In 2004 John won the inaugural Professional Poker Tour, and more recently in 2006 he won more than $1,000,000 (AUD) in Australia and almost $500,000 in Monte Carlo, Monaco. These bring his total approximate winnings up to $6,200,000. John Juanda is well known as being a genuinely nice guy. He is calm and friendly and this is rarely compromised.
